In order for me to provide you with the best quality painting or drawing for your project I need you to send the best quality photo that you can. If you are not a technical type of person send me the photos and I will tell you if I can use them. All of your photos will be returned to you with the painting or drawing.
If you are knowledgeable about such things as resolution the following requirements need to be as close as possible.
Digital camera photos need to be 3 mega pixals or higher.
Scanned digital photos need to be at a 300 dpi resolution or more.
Scanned regular photos need to be the best they can be, the higher the resolution and clearer the photo the better the painting. Any photos can be e-mailed to me and I can rework them if need be, however if they start out really fuzzy or off color, I can’t do much for them. Even though some photos may not be the best I still can do a beautiful painting or drawing.
You need to pay close attention to the small details such as eye color, small wrinkles and fine lines, hair color in both pets and people.
In flowers, landscapes, seascapes, still life and wildlife, be aware of the background as I need to know if you want something left out or changed. Sometimes one or two flowers make a better picture than a whole bunch of them, sometimes less is more.
I will help you with the selection of backgrounds and subject for your painting or drawing. I do not expect you to know the details necessary for laying out a perfect picture. I have an artists eye and have trained myself to see things most people ignore.
Remember also that if you don’t like the photo you will not like the painting so be cautious on what you select to send, I will help as much as possible. I don’t start till we agree on the particulars that you want in your project. I can make adjustments for red eye, windblown hair, and other imperfections in an otherwise good picture.
